I’m Lori. the Co-Founder of Pretty Strong Cosmetics and Skincare. I’d like to introduce you to the strongest person I know, the embodiment of
resilience and strength – my daughter, Alexis.
Alexis embarked on her extraordinary journey at the tender age of six when leukemia cast its shadow upon her. In the crucible of a three-year battle; Alexis faced bone marrow aspirations, spinal taps, and relentless chemotherapy with not just resilience, but a courage that resonated far beyond hospital walls.
Her indomitable spirit transformed her into a beacon of hope, capturing hearts on television, radio, and at numerous fundraising events. Yet, Alexis's story was far from over. At 18, she discovered new challenges stemming from the aftermath of intense chemotherapy. Undeterred, she ventured into a new odyssey of self-discovery and resilience. Battling misdiagnoses, she emerged not only as a licensed esthetician but also as a luminary in skincare.
In the midst of her transformative journey, Alexis founded Spa Alexis, a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit and profound expertise. Destiny intervened, weaving her soon-to-be husband, Jamie into her narrative. Jamie was her kindred spirit who fueled Alexis’s venture into naturopathic medicine. His unwavering support became the bedrock for Alexis's courage, challenging norms and defying the boundaries of conventional wisdom
Their shared journey took an unexpected turn when Jamie faced adversity from a work accident, revealing the shortcomings of the medical system. Armed with naturopathic knowledge, Alexis became a beacon of hope, showcasing the resilience born from her own health battles. Together, they navigated 18 years of love and companionship, a bond strengthened by shared triumphs and trials.
Fate dealt a heartbreaking blow in 2021 when Jamie, the cornerstone of Alexis's world, succumbed to a heart attack. Yet, true to the ethos of "Pretty Strong", Alexis turned inward, drawing on her strength to face this new chapter.
From the initial battle against leukemia to triumphs in business and love, Alexis's journey echoes with the power of strength, determination, and the indomitable human spirit.
